The unmodified ESM library /engine/heif-lib.mjs is independently replaceable. Users may replace/relink it and reverse engineer modifications for debugging; no application policy restricts these LGPL rights.

HEVC patent obligations are separate from copyright licenses; no universal clearance is asserted.

All codec binaries are unmodified. Decoder upgrades require renewed native-code and license review.
